Weekly recap and weekend shenanigans
Well the first week is out of the way!
I've successfully removed all the crap from my house (and made sure I logged it along the way). I have no more sodas on hand and I'm still mad at myself for starting that again. I had made it to 6 full years of not having one and then just a few months ago, on a whim, drank one and then it all went down hill from there. So that stops now (again).
This week I am proud that I did get some movement in. And that I managed to log everything. So that right there, to me, is a tremendous first step. Hopefully the rest will sort of snowball into place. My plan for next week is keep doing the same.
I spent a lot of this weekend doing tropical storm prep around the house and also spent a lot of nervous energy cleaning. My house is spotless! I'm pretty proud of that. For the last 3 weeks, I have been back to work full time again and things got sort of off kilter having to relearn my routine. But, I'm actually about to make the transition and I will be working from home 2 or 3 days a week. I'm pretty happy about that and I hope that it will be something that I can continue doing going forward. That will not start for at least a week though because we have several big projects going on at work at the moment that we have to finish first.
So it isn't much, I assure you but it definitely is a lot more than what it was before. Yesterday I did a lot though and I did count it as exercise. I removed bricks from around my "ahem" flower bed. More like a grass garden, but I digress. Also removed a dead thing out of the middle of the two crepe myrtles (Is that how you even spell those?)
I'm hoping to get some dirt next weekend to fill in the brick spaces, Plus this will make it much easier for my yard guy to mow.
I also managed to clean my back patio which has been needing some tlc for quite some time. I'd like to be able to spend some of my work days out there when the weather is nice. So I moved everything off the patio, swept, removed the debris and then pressure washed the area and the patio furniture. I also pressure washed the entire side of my house. I'd love to pressure wash my neighbors house too because it looks abhorrent... sigh.

And lastly, with my dad's help managed to hang the shower curtain in my master bathroom. I have not been able to use that master shower in about 4 years. Since before my house flooded in 2016. I ended up not replacing the glass door for the moment. I just really wanted something functional right now.
And a additional pic of Loki because he is adorable :)
So needless to say, I'm pretty proud of this weekend and what I've accomplished. My next major project around the house that I want to tackle will be priming and painting my office. My ex picked this color out and I've hated it ever since. It's very dark and depressing and I feel like I'm in a forest or a pool table. See what I mean:
So I'll plan that project for another weekend I think.
On the agenda for the rest of the day will be meal prepping! I've got a few things planned for this week food wise, so I'll be getting around to doing that shortly before the bad weather starts to work its way in. I guess I'll go ahead and wrap this up for now but if you are anywhere on the gulf coast, stay safe!

You are doing great! You have set into motion some healthy habits and plans! You have been active with movement AND super proelductive! Way to go!!! And I love the shower curtain and rug in the master bath!!!

DeleteThanks! Yep, just slow and steady. I'm in no rush and just want to go about it the right way instead of diving in head first!
