Mid July update
Oof I didn't expect so much time to pass between posts. It's been a ridiculously crazy week and a half!
He matches my wall so that's weird but fun!
I did hit my below 240 goal! So I was pretty pumped about that but alas birthday season happened. And there was tons of yummy seafood and cake happening. And as of Wednesday's weigh in, I went back over to 241. I'm not too concerned about it though. At least it was nice to see a downward trend. The goal here soon is to start bumping up the exercising and I'm working on getting a plan in place with some ideas that are floating around in my brain.
My birthday was Sunday the 12th and I decided to venture out into the world and go to a restaurant. I ended up choosing Drago's and we went around 2:30 to avoid any big crowds. I was really pleased that everyone had masks on and the staff did a good job of distancing everyone. (There was maybe 12 patrons in the entire restaurant total, including 7 of us in my immediate circle) after the delicious food, the family, and I all went back to my house for cake and ice cream. It was a wonderful afternoon surrounded (at a safe distance) by loved ones.
My daughter bought me my very own Baby Yoda and I am over the moon about him!

I also got a new pair of Brooks. I'll snap a pic and include in the next blog post but they are oh so comfy.
Work has been crazy busy too but I do feel accomplished this week. We finally finished a fairly major project that has been hanging over our head for months now and kept getting delayed thanks to Covid-19. So it will be thrilling to have that in our rear view mirror and I can start making the transition to working from home a few days a week. I am truly looking forward to that.
Also my tennis season finished for the year and I've decided not to play summer league or fall league. At least until things calm down with the Coronavirus. I wanted to finish the spring season out since I had committed to it and the team needed people or else they would have had to forfeit. I truly agonized over the decision as to whether to play or not. Fortunately our local tennis association and all of the tennis center locations did a wonderful job of helping keep us safe during this period. We opened one can of brand new balls before each match, and also did not shake hands which is typical traditional both before and after a match. So in lieu of etiquette, they allowed us to "tap" racquets. We also could not use any ice makers nor could we use any water fountains and had to bring our own water. Plus we were not allowed to sit on any benches or bleachers, nor allowed to congregate in the tennis shops. Oh I did finish the season with a winning record too, 4 wins and 3 losses. Not too shabby for an old, fat lady. I'll take it happily!
So that's really all I can report right now. July is our big family month for major events. My birthday, my aunt's birthday, my parents anniversary and then my dad's birthday all fall in July. So the month still has a ways to go. I'm just working on making better choices and not going back for that 2nd piece of cake. So far, it's working. We shall see what the end of the month says.
Anyways, I hope everyone is staying cool and healthy and safe this summer. It's been a scorcher here!
