Don't Blink!

So I just blinked and 2 years have gone by since last posting.   Life is weird.

New Stuff

Boyfriend is now fiancée and soon to be husband.  He is wonderful.  We are wonderful.  We have our challenges but we face them together, head on.  I am over the moon with how amazing he is.  He is the most encouraging and loving partner.  He gets me and is my person.  I know how lucky and blessed I am.

I sold my house and moved in with John so I am completely out in the country now.  It's a whole new world out here.  Also commuting sucks.  Thankfully, I do work from home twice a week.

John's father passed away in January and he went to Canada for the services.  We couldn't get pet sitting services in time for me to join him, but he did take me there in March.  We had a wonderful time visiting and meeting his family (and John's granddaughter, well, I guess mine now too!).  It was such an amazing trip and his mum was so glad to have him there twice in one year.  We also got to visit his dad's gravesite and pay our respects.  We also did some touristy stuff (Niagara Falls, downtown Toronto) and John got to show me his old haunts.  We had an amazing time.   The first of many trips, I'm sure for me!

Other sad news is that I lost my sweet Loki in February.   He lived a long life but was really struggling in the end and we made the hard decision to end his suffering.

But in happier news, we obtained a new addition to the zoo.  We are 4 dogs and 4 cats once again.  Meet Gracie:

Health and Diet News

So yeah.  I'm at my all time highest.  268.  I have been logging faithfully in Lose It! since my start date, July 18th. And also moving more.  I've started back walking again.  I'm starting slow but I'm also learning that as I am heading ever so quickly to the age of 50, this isn't as easy as it used to be!   I am only down 3 lbs since starting.  I have also cut way way back on sodas.  I now have 1 per week, as before I was having 1 or more a day.  That worked for me last time (I actually cut it out altogether) but we will see this time around what works and what doesn't.

Mostly that's also why I'm back.  For accountability.  Even if no one reads this. Hopefully this will keep me on the straight and narrow.   I'm already very proud of myself for logging everything I do, exercise and food into Lose It each day.   I'm trying just to maintain this consistency and see what happens.  I do have a goal in mind by the time I hit 50. (Which is roughly 11 months from now.)  And that is 50 lbs lost by 50.

Here I go....!
