I'm Still Standin'
My blogger friend, Meg, always put song titles to name her posts and I always thought that was such a clever idea. And since I can't think of a title, here's a little Elton for you. BTW, LOVED Rocketman. It really surprised me how much I loved it. So that song always has a special place in my heart also since I can definitely relate to Sir Elton's and Mr. Taupin's lyrics.
So these past few weeks have been a blur but thankfully birthday season is behind me. I did gain a bit. 4 lbs to be exact, but I'm okay with it. Trust me when I say, it could have been far, far worse. So the goal now for me is to concentrate on water and movement. I do feel like I'm in a good place food wise. I've been meal prepping lately and I've also been doing really good at staying within my limits and stopping just before I feel full. That's always been a challenge. I was raised to"clean your plate"and not waste food. But, I'm slowly rebuilding that mentality. I'm just setting aside what I don't eat for the next meal and the combining the leftovers into a weird mutant food hodgepodge.
Exercise has been better. Not quite as consistent as I would like but at least I'm miles away from where I was before I re-started this journey. So my plan now is to start gradually increasing things and building on that momentum. I'd like to have a solid 3-4 days worth of at a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise. I've started marching in place at my desk at work when I can spare a few minutes. We've been so incredibly busy lately that those moments are few and far between but it needs to be a priority. And if I can't squeeze in anything on my breaks, I need to do something once I get home. It's time to (as they say) up the ante.
I need to also improve on my water intake too. I'd like to get back to where I was drinking 100oz per day. No real excuses there, I just need to buck up and do it, to be honest.
So not much else to report on the weight loss front. It's been a vicious cycle of work, home, sleep here lately. But here's a few pics from the shenanigans I've gotten into the last few weeks.

| New Baby Yoda Funkos have come in and a new (old) retro pen from the 80s is now my new (old) favorite writing utensil. |
I did manage a very large project today. It was hot a.f. out but I was determined to clear my fence from vines and random shrubbery. I wish I would have thought to get a "before" pic. Ah well. Also missing from the pic was the garbage can full of more debris/shrubs/vines. I'm wiped out!
That's all I have for this time! Hope you are all safe and sound and doing well with your journeys!

So many wins here! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteGetting out of that clean plate club mentality is soo hard- way to go!
